Ms. Gail Smith, age 66, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Born in Tate, Georgia, to the late Mr. Fred Walden and Ms. Bertie Cross Walden, Gail was known for her boundless love and dedication to her family.
Gail had an extraordinary talent for cooking and took great pride in ensuring her family was always well-fed. Family gatherings were her greatest joy, where she lovingly prepared hearty meals, creating unforgettable memories. Her home was a haven of delicious food and warmth, always welcoming to anyone.
Her love for animals and gardening was evident in the care she gave to her pets and her beautiful yard. Gail spent many happy hours among her flowers, cultivating beauty with her green thumb. Thrift store visits were another of her cherished pastimes, where she found joy in discovering hidden treasures.
Above all, Gail's family was the heart of her world. She prioritized their happiness and well-being, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and countless cherished moments. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Her loss will be deeply felt by her surviving family, son, Billy (Kathy) Mewborn, daughters, Tonya (Jason) Teague, Brittany (Oscar) Mejia, step-daughter, Angel Moore, grandchildren, Nicholas & fiancé Brittany Kirk, Tyler Mewborn, Katrina Mewborn, J.T. (Anna) Teague, Alexis ( Bobby) Teague, Jayla Teague, Phenix Mejia, Leona Mejia, great grandchildren, Scarlett, Kason, Emelia, brothers, Junior Walden, Larry Walden, Jimmy Walden, sisters, Onnie (Richard) Nichols, Faye (Tim) Turner and Ann (Alan) Amos.
The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Tuesday December 3, 2024, from one in the afternoon until nine at night, Wednesday December 4, 2024, from 10 in the morning until nine at night and Thursday December 5, 2024, from 10 in the morning until the service hour.
Gail’s funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home on Thursday December 5, 2024, at two o’clock with Rev. Joesph Hightower officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lake Forest Memorial Park.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Hopefully, we can all take comfort in knowing that Gail no longer suffers. She was my friend for 25 years and I will miss her dearly.
