Hazel Walter Obituary
Hazel Clarissa Walter passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Grove Manor in Grove City, PA at the age of 91.
Hazel was born in Ford City, PA on March 10, 1933 to the late William Ross and Lucille Belle (Briggs) Schrecengost.
She was a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 1754 and a member of Ladies Auxiliary in Fredonia.
Surviving are five children: Deborah Wallace in Mercer, PA, Denise (Al) Chambers in Mercer, PA, Ralph Walter, Jr. and his wife Beverly in Mercer, PA, Michael Walter in Wheatland, PA and Dawne (Brian) McIntyre in Jackson Center, PA. She is also survived by two brothers, James Schrecengost in Sharon, PA and Hale Schrecengost in Buffalo, NY, 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Preceding Hazel in death are her parents, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
Visitation will be at Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 144 S. Pitt Street, Mercer, PA 16137 on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Harris, of Grove Manor officiating. Burial will be at Findley Cemetery, Mercer, PA.
