James Alvin Brent, aged 90, peacefully passed away on March 12, 2026, at his residence in Swartz Creek, MI.
He was born December 2, 1935, in Qulin, MO.
Jim was employed as Plant Protection at Chevrolet Truck & Bus and retired in 1988. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Swartz Creek Council #6694.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Fredericka Brent (Fritzler), and his children, Daniel and Maria Brent.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Benjamin Brent and Alta Strickland (Osborn), his siblings, Anna Lott (Hefner) and Gary Brent, and his first wife, Anna Brent (Wright).
Jim’s life will be celebrated at St. Mary Queen of Angels church in Swartz Creek, MI on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 11:00am, followed by a luncheon.

His remains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery (date to be determined).

I watched the Celebration from Prescott Valley, AZ. My heart was both sad for the greater family and joyous for Jim's eternal soul. The passage 2 Timothy 4:7-8 comes to mind. We will miss Jim and want an easier time for our cousin. Love and God bless.
