James "Jim" Johns Obituary

James "Jim" Alan Johns, 68, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family. 

Born December 26, 1956, at Oak Hill, he was the son of the late Lyle and Mary Rosa (Olenick) Johns. 

Jim was a former Radio Frequency Engineer for AT&T. He attended the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church where he sang in the trio. Jim enjoyed drinking his coffee, listening to music, riding motorcycles, working on stuff, and was always keeping his hands busy.   

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his two brothers, David and Lyle Johns. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 49 years, Anna Johns; his daughter, Sam Smith and her husband, Adrian of Louisville, Kentucky; two sons, Theodore Alan Johns of Gatewood and Andrew Johns and his wife, Kahra of Oak Hill; five grandsons, Xander, Xaylen, Tanner, Logan, and Dalton; one brother, John Johns of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. 

Services will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Roger Harding officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. 

Friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home. 

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
