Janet K. Quirk (Day) Obituary

Janet K. (Day) Quirk, 90, passed away on September 28, 2024 in Kingston, NY. She was formerly of Ringtown and Gordon, PA. She was the daughter of John and Kathryn (Krah) Day and was a graduate of Butler Township High School, class of 1951.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa (Reed) Buthmann, and husband Brant of Tillson, NY; son John Reed and his wife Kathryn of Leland, NC; grandson, John Buthmann, of Buffalo, NY and niece Sheila (Day) Rooney. She was predeceased by her sons Jeffery Reed and Lee Reed as well as her bother John Day.

She was a member of Christ's United Lutheran Church in Ashland, PA where she was a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Schuylkill County Choral Society and the Ashland Area Community Choir. She was a volunteer driver for Daikon Lutheran Social Ministries and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program as well as a member of Friends of Anthracite Museum and a volunteer for the Ashland Area Food Pantry.

She was last employed as a legal assistant for 13 years at Rubright, Domalakes, Troy and McDonald of Frackville, PA until her retirement in 1999.

A memorial service will be held at Christ's United Lutheran Church in Ashland, PA on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 2 PM with visitation starting at 1 PM. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Christ's United Lutheran Church.
