Jay Kreber Obituary

Jay Dean Kreber, age 70, passed away of natural causes, Thursday, August 22, 2024 at his rural Springfield residence.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Goglin Funeral Chapel in Tyndall. 

Jay was born December 24, 1953 at Tyndall, SD to Wallace and Irene (Rehurek) Kreber. He attended country grade school at Armstrong District 34. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1972. Jay worked for area farmers, then started working at Kerr McGee gas station for Urban and Gene Wynia. Jay worked for Halsey Construction for many years, until he went to work for Rick Kreber as a farm hand. He has been retired for several years.

Jay is survived by his brothers, Robert Kreber of Madison, Wisconsin and Neal Kreber of Springfield, SD; sisters, Ila Wright of Yankton, SD and Joleen Kreber of Stickney, SD; as well as many cousins. He is also survived by niece, Susan Wright of Buckeye, AZ and nephew, John Wright of East Lansing, Michigan and John’s son, Jonah.
