Joanne M. (Scharl) George, 78, of Neffs, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Glenn R. George. Born in Allentown, January 22, 1946, Joanne was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margene I. (Kistler) Scharl. She was employed as a bookkeeper at ATAS International, Inc. in Fogelsville, for 20 years before retiring. Prior to that, Joanne worked at Eichler Wood Products in Laurys Station for 18 years. She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, a past president of the former Upper Lehigh Lioness Club, Schnecksville, and a former superintendent of the baked goods area in Agri-Plex at The Great Allentown Fair.
Survivors: Son, Earl P. George and his wife, Jeanine Villano-George of Walnutport; grandson, Anthony T. George of Delran, NJ; predeceased by a sister, Diane L. Hughes.
Service: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am. Monday, September 16, 2024, at The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with Pastor Carrie Beleno officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 5:30 pm. – 7:00 pm. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Lehigh Lions Club, Fund of H.O.P.E. c/o the funeral home, P.O Box # 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.

Just thought of you today Joanne. So very sorry to hear that you've passed.
Earl & Jeanine and Anthony, I'm sorry to hear. I worked with Joanne many years ago at ATAS...her & your Dad were great people. She talked about you and Anthony all the time with a big smile on her face. We lost touch over the years, but I think of her often. Take care.
