John “Jay” Joseph Nedza of Middletown passed on October 24, 2024, at the age of 58, with his children by his side following a brief illness.
Jay is survived by his daughter Samantha Nedza and his son Joseph Nedza, both of Middletown. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jennie (Beauchemin) Nedza and his father John J. Nedza Sr. Jay also leaves behind his Niece Amy Wiknik, who had a very special place in his family, mother Virginia (Sochacki) Nedza, sister Kim Wiknik and his best friend of 40years Frank Russo.
Jay grew up in Durham and graduated from Coginchaug High School in 1985. He was a true jack of all trades. He was a master mechanic, welder, carpenter and enjoyed the culinary arts. Most recently having worked for the City of Meriden Water Pollution Control Facility as a licensed wastewater treatment operator. Jay showed his love for his family and friends by cooking and serving delicious meals and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Jay was also an avid sportsman, enjoying his time hunting, fishing and clay shooting.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday (Nov. 16th) from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a Words of Remembrance Service at 2:30 p.m. . To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.
