John Whitcomb Obituary

John D. Whitcomb, age 67, of Brillion, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.

John was born on February 27, 1957 in Manistique, MI., son of Patricia (Wilcox) Whitcomb and the late John A. Whitcomb. He was a hard worker and had various jobs throughout his life. John worked laying asphalt, doing maintenance at Garrow Villa and also worked as a painter for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, muscle cars, going to the races and was a true Detroit Lions fan. John was a great artist and created many wonderful paintings and crafts that he often shared with family and friends. 

Survivors include his children: Chris (Kendra) Whitcomb, Mishicot, Crystal (Leon) Mueller, Newton, Jennifer (Darrick) Whitehouse, Two Rivers; six grandchildren: Kyle, Logan, Christian, Zachary, Nicholas and Isaiah; one great granddaughter: Ellie; his mother: Patricia Whitcomb, Brillion; one sister: Marie Ott, Brillion; and one brother: Sean (Danila) Whitcomb, Chilton. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father: John A. Whitcomb; an infant brother: Patrick; along with many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Greg Van Thiel.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
