Joseph Steffens Obituary

Joseph L. "Joe" Steffens, age 95, passed away on January 12, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 24, 1929 in Grand Rapids MI to Edward and Rose Steffens. Joe is survived by his wife of 68 years, Phyllis Steffens, his children Edward (Cindi Tolhurst) Steffens, Donald Steffens, Theresa DeArmond; grandchildren Jenny Steffens, Ashley DeArmond, Samantha (Ryan) Core and Marissa Steffens; great-grandchildren, Ava DeArmond, Tyler Galinis, Glen, Jane and Kathleen Core along with Baby Core soon to arrive; his sister, Rosemary Arends; sisters-in-law Sharon Steffens, Sharon (Dave) Carlson, Bonnie Alt and Jane Berg and brother-in-law, George (Mickey) May along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Steffens and his parents; his siblings John Steffens and Lucille Clonan. A Mass of Christian Burial for Joe will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1200 Alpine Church Rd., Comstock Park, MI, 49321. Joe's family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday January 16, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with the prayers of the Holy Rosary being recited at 4:00 pm at the Bueschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321 and from 10:00 am until the time of mass Friday at the church. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
