Kenneth Francis Obituary

KENNETH ALLEN FRANCIS

Kenneth Allen Francis, known affectionately as Kenny, passed away on September 24, 2024 at the age of 82 in Walnut Creek, California.

Born July 27, 1942 in Richmond, California, Kenny was a lifelong resident of Pinole, California. After graduating from DeAnza High School, Kenny furthered his education at Contra Costa College.

Kenny proudly served in the Army National Guard. He then dedicated many years to his community, first as a Journeyman Mechanic at Val Strough Chevrolet in Oakland, and later as a Firefighter for the City of Pinole. Kenny's commitment to service was a testament to his fun-loving personality. Kenny was deeply involved in his local community, participating as a member in various Horsemen Associations, the Moose Lodge, and the Sportsman's Club in San Pablo. He frequently visited the Pinole Senior Center, where he enjoyed connecting with and lifting the spirits of fellow community members.

Kenny's spiritual life was centered around St. Rose of Lima Church in Crockett, California, where he found great solace and fellowship. He often spoke about how his life was enriched by his loving family and numerous friends.

Kenny is survived by his daughters, Alana Loftus (and her husband, Thomas); Brenda Francis; his son, Kevin Francis; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Kenny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Francis, after sharing 53 years of marriage; and his parents, Louis and Kathleen Francis.

A memorial service to honor Kenny's life will be held on October 28, 2024, at Wilson & Kratzer Mortuary Civic Center Chapel, 455 24th Street, Richmond, California at 11:00 a.m. The service will be followed by an interment at Rolling Hills Memorial Park, 4100 Hilltop Drive, Richmond, California at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Fallen Firefighters Association in Kenny's memory. Ken's passing was a true shock to us. Ken and his wife Susie were close personal friends for years. Dining together once in a while and singing karaoke were wonderful memories. Ken was also an athlete in past years and enjoyed attending annual gatherings of local athletes.
He will be missed great deal.
