Lawrence Wilcox Obituary

With great sadness we announce the passing of Lawrence "Larry" Arthur Wilcox, 76, on Monday, October 28, 2024, at his home in Piermont, NH. Larry was born in Jamestown, NY on February 8, 1948, to Richard and June (Bates) Wilcox. Larry was a graduate of Chautauqua Central School in 1966 where he participated in band, French Club, and the Senior Class play. He graduated from Geneseo State University (SUNY at Geneseo) in 1970.

Larry retired in 2016 after 38 years as Project Manager at The Cheviot Corporation, Needham Heights, MA. In 1988 Larry and Jane made their home in Newton, MA, with a vacation home in Piermont, NH. They relocated to Piermont during COVID. Larry and Jane enjoyed many years traveling. They traveled to Italy, France, Iceland, Greenland. Mexico and Central America. Larry was also an avid photographer and worked with stained glass, including the windows in the front door at the United Methodist Church in Mayville. Larry leaves behind Jane, his wife of 35 years. Also left behind are his son, Todd (Jennifer) in Richmond, VA, stepson Oliver in Boulder, CO, brother Roger of Tampa, FL and sister Linda of Jamestown, NY. Larry is predeceased by his parents, Richard and June Wilcox, and sister Janice.

The funeral will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:30am at the Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch St., Woodsville, NH. The burial will be November 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Chautauqua Cemetery in Chautauqua, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or Dementia Society of America.
