Lesly Louise Taylor-Smith, age 60 of Poplar Bluff, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1965 in Bluffview Arkansas, the daughter of Woodrow and Lanelle (Underhill) Taylor.
She was a small-town girl who never even owned a cell phone. She loved to shop and had a soft spot for all animals—especially horses. Her sense of fashion could stop you in your tracks, and she was always on the go. If she wasn’t cleaning (and anyone who knew Lesly knows how much she loved to clean), she was out feeding the neighborhood strays or taking a walk to enjoy nature.
Lesly was a devoted wife and a beautiful mother to her two sons. She loved the holidays and cherished any time spent together with family. Her favorite color was green, a perfect match for her lively spirit and love of the outdoors.
She may not have been the best driver, but if you told Lesly she couldn’t do something, she’d prove you wrong every time. She was also a wonderful swimmer—almost majestic, moving through the water like a fish in the sea. Lesly enjoyed the little things in life and lived it to the fullest.
In addition to her parents Woodrow and Lanelle Taylor, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gregory Taylor.
Survivors include her husband Timothy Smith of the home, two sons; Kenneth Taylor and his wife Kenzie of Poplar Bluff, Nick Taylor and his companion Adrienne of St. Louis, eight grandchildren, along with many other family and friends.
Visitation was held at 3:00 PM Thursday at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services followed at 4:00 PM at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Brian Wilson officiating.
Internment was in the Mountain View Cemetery in Des Arc.
