Linda Gayle Cotton, age 78 of Franklin, died Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 2pm at Crafton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm Saturday and after 6am Sunday at the funeral home. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Willard Thomas McGuffey and Bessie Carlene Mandrell McGuffey. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters – Barbara McGuffey and Shirley Farr. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Franklin. She was a long time employee of Suburban Gas in Franklin and in later years worked with her family at D&M Florist. Linda was an avid walker and loved to play the piano and sing with the grandchildren as well as tending to her garden. Survivors include her husband – Billy Cotton of Franklin; son – Scott Cotton (Sarah) of Portland; grandchildren – Emily, Molly and Andrew Cotton. Linda was a bright light in this world. She was a joy and blessing to our family and a great friend to my mom and stepdad, Jean Mandrell Burton and Harold Burton. She will be greatly missed.

I’m going to miss my sweet friend at church. She sat beside me in the choir. We had a lot of great times together. I hoped that she would finally get well and come back.
