Lorene L. Dunn, age 77, of Des Arc, passed away Friday, November 1st, 2024 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St, Louis. She was born January 26th, 1947, the daughter of Oscar and Esther (Walters) Scholl.
In 1972, She married Lauren Charles Dunn in St. Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death. Lorene was a member of the Free Spirit Baptist Church in Vulcan. She was passionate about helping others and caring for her family and friends. You could find Lorene helping out with the South Iron Food Pantry, raising funds to support the food pantry program, or any event to help out the community. Lorene never met a stranger and was a mother figure to many. Her family meant the world to her and enjoyed having them by her side.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one son, John McIntyre; three brothers, Harold, Raymond, and Henry Scholl; and one sister, Jane Scholl.
Survivors includes three children, Dawn Nisted of Jacksonville, Florida, Shawn McIntyre and his wife Shawna of Des Arc, Kathy Sappington and her husband Leo of Des Arc; three brothers, Oscar, Herbie, and Rick; seven sisters, Florence, Ruth, Ann, Irene, Helen, Audrey, and Dorothy.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kristine, Chelsea, Kaula, Kelsey, Gage, and Nicholas; two great-grandchildren, Liam, Jade, and one on the way, along with many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Visitation was held at 12:30 PM Thursday at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services followed at 2:30 PM Thursday November 7th, 2024, at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Steve Sale officiating. Special recorded music was played for the service with Shawn McIntyre, Terry Kalhorn, Jade Dyer, Levi Peikert, Roy Usery, and Chance Beckett served as pall bearers.
Interment was in the Huff Cemetery in Chloride, Missouri.

Our condolences and love to all family and friends. Lou was a beautiful soul. She was a ray of sunshine wherever she met anyone. Lou will be missed greatly. May she rest in sweet peace.
