Megan Kemper Obituary

WATERTOWN, NY – Megan E. Kemper, 35, passed away on Thursday night, Oct. 24, 2024, at Samaritan Medical Center, following a hard-fought battle with Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma.

She leaves her husband of 16 years, Randy Kemper and their beloved children, Jackson, age 11, and Briella, age 5. She is also missed by her father, Patrick Weick of Michigan and her siblings, Richard (Sarah) Weick of Florida, Natalie (Paul) Labbe of Georgia, Melanie (Zach) Szawara of Michigan and Logan and Genoa Weick, both of Michigan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Megan was born in Trenton, Michigan on September 6, 1989, the daughter of Patrick Weick. Following her graduation from high school, she earned an associate degree in nursing from Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama. She worked as a nurse for Guthrie Ambulatory Care Center on Fort Drum.

Megan was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, nurse, and friend. She loved her family beyond measure and prayed for the miracle of more time with them. She was a fighter with big goals, always taking family photos and working on home projects. She will be deeply missed.

Per her wishes, there will be no public services.

I did not know Megan but I currently work with her brother Richard. I know she was loved by so many and her character lives on through many people.

On behalf of the 801st RED HORSE Training Squadron, we send our deepest condolences to the Weick and Kemper family.

I did not know Megan very well. I only met her once last year when she had come into Guthrie clinic to drop off her work computer. The clinic always was saying such positive things about her. When finally met her, I couldn’t believe the amount of strength she had despite her diagnosis. She was very positive when I was talking to her, and was very bubbly. May she find peace and is no longer suffering. I wish and pray for the best for her husband and children.

We are so sorry to hear about Megan. We lost Tyler a few years back. We know your pain. Cheryl, Mike, Tara and Cody (on Prescott a couple doors down from you)

I only knew Megan for a short time due to our shared experiences with cholangiocarcinoma, Roswell, and motherhood. My heart breaks for your loss that is unfair and unimaginable.
