Michael Geiger Obituary

On November 9, 2024, at home with his wife’s hand in his, Michael, completed his earthly work and joined the Lord to begin his eternal journey. Peace, love and God’s grace were plentiful as family and friends were always nearby during his final days.

The impact Michael has left on this world is far reaching, words such as genuine, patient, loyal, faithful, generous, humble, patriot and, of course Reese’s, were frequently said when speaking of Michael. He was a solid presence and was cherished by those who shared in the many seasons of his life’s journey.

Michael loved to travel. During his lifetime, he visited all 50 states, living in several. His passion for exploring this country was passed on to his children as he loved going on trips and experiencing the beauty and history with them. To hear them reminisce about those travels was always joyful and was guaranteed to make you laugh as the stories always included the shenanigans that were part of the dynamic of their family unit.

In addition to travel, Michael loved music, especially Uriah Heap, and built an extensive collection of music over the years covering many genres. Michael also had a talent for drawing which created opportunities to earn a living while he was travelling in the western part of the country during his younger years. In later years, when his firstborn grandchild expressed an interest in art and pursued a path to expand and share her talents the pride that filled him was immeasurable.

Michael was a true patriot and supporter of our veterans and their families and gave selflessly of his time and compassion to many organizations and individuals. The relationships he was blessed with during the many missions he was involved in were embraced with true respect and love. Michael’s willingness to serve the military community and families was constant.  Although Michael lost a brother and a son during the war in Afghanistan, he did not turn away in his grief. Instead, he let God guide him on a path to contribute, support, educate, and give of himself. Michael was truly both honored and humbled by these experiences.

Michael was self-employed for over 40 years as a floor installer and found satisfaction and pride in his work. Working with his son for some of these years was truly a wonderful and rewarding time which he valued. His attention to detail along with his focus on quality work and satisfied customers was always his first priority. True to the person Michael was, his work over the years also created many lifelong relationships that he treasured. Mike was everyone’s favorite Floor Guy.

Faith was always a part of Michael’s life. His relationship with the Lord was one he treasured. Although there were times he struggled, Michael always found his way back to the Lord. Over the years, he was involved in church activities such as teaching Sunday School, organizing support groups and Bible studies. If there were hands needed, Michael was quick to offer his. Michael was a member of Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church and was grateful for the amazing congregation and community that provided limitless support, growth and joy.

Michael’s love of family and faith in the Lord is what gave him his strength and courage to always be open to growth and strive to live a full and meaningful life.

It is clear to all that have known Michael, if he called you friend, he really meant you were family.

Michael is survived by his wife, Maia (Kuhl) Geiger; his children, Tiffany Geiger, Michael Geiger, II (Nicole Milkovits), Jonathan Geiger; his children of the heart, Robert Gessitz (Amber Stettler), Anthony Rodriguez, Chelsea Heckman (Anthony); his parents, George A. Though I knew and volunteered with Mike for several years, I wasn't aware that Mike had health issues. I had the distinct honor and privilege of knowing and volunteering alongside Mike, myself as a photographer, at the many veteran-supporting events in the Lehigh Valley...car washes, softball games, stage shows, walk/runs, to name a few. And Mike had such a GREAT sense of humor. My deepest, heartfelt condolences to his family, on his passing. He is, and will be, forever loved and missed by everybody...

Michael was one of the sweetest man I knew. So glad he joined our church family and became my brother in Christ. He has been on my heart and in my prayers during this hard journey of life but his faith was a true testimony to us all. My only regret is that I did not get to know him even better. And I thank God that it gives Maia peace to know that one day they will be reunited forever. Mike will be so missed.....
