Miriam Ruth “Mimi” Burr Banton, age 75 of Franklin, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 11am at Crafton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm Tuesday and after 6am Wednesday at the funeral home. A native of Simpson County, she was the daughter of the late Bowden Burr and Julia Halcomb Burr. She was a graduate of Franklin Simpson High School and Western Kentucky University. Mimi was a member of Sulphur Spring Baptist Church. She had worked at Weyerhaeuser as a production manager and as secretary at Detrex. Survivors include her husband – Kelly Banton of Franklin; children – Chris Banton of Chicago, Shawn Banton (Melissa) of Smiths Grove and Courtney Banton (Dana) of Franklin; grandchildren – Ben, Griff, Eme, Ashlann and Jolly Banton; great grandchild - Gracie Ruth Taylor; sisters – Marthena Burr and Judy Burr both of Franklin; niece – Amanda Bullock Costellow (Mike) and great nephew – Joseph Costellow.

We will miss our Mimi in "the hood". She was always making us laugh with our nicknames! Mimi always made us feel special when we were together. She took me to pick corn for the first time. God bless Kelley and family.
