Roger William Hurst, son of Donald and Wanda (Holmes) Hurst, was born October 28, 1953 in Dexter, Iowa. He graduated from Stuart High School. Roger continued his education at Iowa State University and the University of South Dakota.
Following college, Roger began his employment at Load King in South Dakota in hydraulic sales.
On September 20, 1986 Roger was united in marriage to Cynthia Alderson in Cumberland, Iowa.
Roger then went to work as a hydraulic cylinder salesman for J&L Hydraulics and later was employed at Bobalee in Laurens for 22 year. Roger spent a few years working in Armstrong.
As a young man, Roger was in a band performing at various locations. He enjoyed music a great deal and also liked golfing. Roger was a political enthusiast, watching and listening to many news stations, keeping up on current events.
Roger passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at his home in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Wanda Hurst; a brother, Darrell; and two daughters, Shelly Conry and Shannon Nehman.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Emmetsburg, Iowa; daughter, Stacy Goetz of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jessie, Christopher, Alan, Carl and McKenzie; nine great grandchildren; a brother, David Hurst and his wife, Debbie of Des Moines, Iowa; as well as many other relatives and friends.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. God just got a wonderful new Angel! He will be watching over you! He is resting now with no pain! My thoughts go out to you and your family at this difficulty time. I know it will be hard each day but just take it one day at a time. I love you God watch over Cindy and family thru these tough day.
