Roger Oliva - Flaquel Obituary

Roger Oliva-Flaquel, 59, of Avon Park, Florida went to be with his Lord on May 4, 2024. Roger was born on May 13, 1964, in Miami, Florida to his loving parents Joseph and Eliane M. Flaquel (Montreuil). Roger was kind, generous and giving, a true man of faith. He displayed these characteristics by giving to anyone in need. He often took in stray animals, providing them kindness and shelter. He also gave to the homeless in their time of need. Roger was a sponsor of the charity “Feed the Children”. He worked hard and was a wealth of knowledge. He could fix absolutely anything. He displayed his adept ability to use his hands and built his first car from bottom to top at fourteen years old. He carried this ability into his career as an electrician in the construction industry. He loved music, food and treasured his days at the beach. He especially loved spending his time with his son Jeffrey Alexander Harrison, his granddaughter Taraj Harrison, friends, family and his beloved canine companion Fifi with whom he shared many adventures.

Roger is survived by his son; Jeffrey Harrison, Brothers; Ronald Flaquel, Moses Flaquel, Sister; Gilda Flaquel-Blaise, Nephews; Joseph Flaquel, Caleb Flaquel, Isaiah Flaquel, Kyle Blaise, Kameron Blaise, Nieces; Ilyon Flaquel and Kaila Blaise, Brother-in-law; Guy F. Blaise, Sisters-in-law; Sherry Flaquel, Tara Flaquel, many uncles, aunts, cousins and his close friends; Alda Holnes, Parchia F. Flores and Patrick Elliott.

Roger touched the lives of many in many ways and will be dearly missed.

Flaq, my younger brother and I grew up together in MIA - running buddies all through high school. Hadn't seen him in many years but got a chance to reconnect with him a few years ago and he put me up when I had a business engagement in Avon Park - he insisted. Came through earlier this year yet wasn't able to catch up with him. Great memories from the day. My condolences to the family and may the Lord keep you at this difficult time.
