Ronald Prater Obituary

Ronnie Houston Prater, 75, went to be with his heavenly father on October 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 18, 1949 to Reed and Jennie Lou Lawson Prater. Ronnie was a huge fan of the Tennessee vols and he enjoyed bowling for many years with dear friends and family. Most of all he loved and cherished his Lord, his family, and his church family at Southview Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reed Prater; brother, Roger Prater; his sister, Carolyn Prater long; and his stepson, Franklin Lawson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 53 years Brenda Gail Prater, daughter, Renee (Aubrey) Moore; son Ronald (Sandra) Prater; stepdaughter Tammy Lawson, his mother, Jennie Lou "Widdie" Morris; sister, Patsy (Bob) Smith; grandchildren, Madyson Prater, McKenzie (Jacob) Sample, Jackson Prater, Codie Carden, Brady (Megan) Carden, and Shelbie (Allen) Bales; and 4 great grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland at 12:00 pm With Pastor Rob Works officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
