Samuel Kang Obituary

Kang, Samuel - Age 80, of Fenton, died April 20, 2013. Funeral mass will be held 10:30 AM Monday, April 22, 2013 in the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 Adelaide Street, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation will be held 4 - 8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Samuel was born August 19, 1932 in North Korea, the son of Shin Hung and Sue Song. He fled to South Korea where he served as a Marine and fought alongside American Marines. He married Wolsun Kwan in South Korea. He lived in Fenton 4 years, coming from New Jersey and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He retired in 2003 as a mechanic. He is survived by his wife, Wolsun; daughter, Okhui (Jeff) Zeigle of Fenton; 2 sons, Il Han Kang and Il Pom Kang of North Carolina; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law in South Korea.
