Todd Allen Spurlock, son of Bruce and Patricia (Brady) Spurlock, was born August 27, 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa. He received his education and graduated from Ankeny High School. He was married to Anne Linthicum for 34 years.
Following high school, Todd was employed at MercyOne of Des Moines for over 30 years as a courier. He handled the transportation to and from clinics, driving over 130 miles daily. He also worked at Hy-Vee part-time for 31 years.
His job as a courier was fitting for Todd because he loved to drive. He always had a classy sports car to take for a ride. His cars were a major part of his life and he enjoyed talking about them with his friends and family.
Todd also enjoyed participating in and spectating different sports. He was a pitcher in baseball, just like his uncle Ray. He loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play and collect baseball memorabilia, especially cards. He was also an avid bowler and recorded a perfect 300 score with an 800 series.
Todd passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the age of 56. He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Pat Spurlock; sister, Kim Spurlock (Otis Crain); niece, Meggan Pacenka (Randy) and children, Jesse and Addison; nephew, Ryan Sheehan, (Joanne) and their children Onyx, and twins, Holden and Layla; uncles, John Brady (Judy) and Jerry Brady (Jan); aunt, Barbara Allen; as well as many other relatives and friends.

I got to know Todd the 5 years I worked part-time at HyVee. We fast became friends and enjoyed our breaks when we would walk over to the gas station for a pop and donut or warm cookie. Todd fancied his vehicles and would always talk about the newest version and the bells and whistles which his version didn't have even though it was like only a year or two old. He met my family and afterwards would alert me to their presence in the store if I was working or would talk with them if I wasn't. I miss Todd. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.

I was so saddened to hear the news. I could always trust, depend and rely upon Todd to handle what was needed to get the job done. I considered him a friend and not his boss and he will be greatly missed. My prayers for his family.

Todd gave me over 30 years of great memories that I'll never forget. From our crazy trips to Arizona and Texas, to our getting together on Wednesday nights for pizza at Abbie's in Bondurant, or Wig & Pen in Ankeny. We always had a blast and it was something I always looked forward to doing. Todd was always very kind to my kids, and they'll miss him, too. He was truly a generous person and the world is a better place because of him. My prayers go out to his family for their strength during this trial.

We have always enjoyed working with Todd and will miss him immensely! I could always count on him to take care of anything I ever asked of him. And then talk about Hawkeye or Viking football.
