Velma Sawchuk Obituary
Velma Ruth Roberts Sawchuk, 90, of Dickinson, North Dakota, Wilmington, NC, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Velma was born on May 28, 1934, in Cowen, WV, the daughter of the late Fred and Irene Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Dr. Andrew (Constantine)Sawchuk of Sawskachen, Canada. Surviving is her son, Dr. Terry C. Sawchuk, and wife, Lisa, and children Nicholas, Marcus, and Peter of Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Sawchuk Jones, and husband, Reverend Dr. Jack Jones III, and children, Marquis and Jack. Velma also has a surviving sister, Karen, Thomas Morris, her husband, special nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Ruth was an Angel here on Earth! She had a heart of gold, kindness and love in her that she shared so abundantly. Our adventures were endless, fun times for sure and laughter that never quit. We looked forward to our girl trip, road trips to Bismarck, BBQs, coffee, picnics in Medora and the Enchanted Highway.
Our family loved Ruthie, beyond measure. She and Andy were family members to us. Thank you for sharing them with us. Now she and doctor are together, watching over you. ♥♥
