William “Boogie Bear” Gaddis Obituary

William (Bill) Martin Gaddis, 63, passed away at his home in Van Alstyne, TX on Monday, October 28, 2024, along with the love of his life for 37 years, Patricia Wilkirson, and their beloved dog, LouLou. Bill was born in Topeka, Kansas on April 9, 1961 to Dan and Dorothy Gaddis. He was their fourth child and only son. During his early years, Bill lived in California until his dad's railroad career brought the family to Amarillo, TX in 1970. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1979 and went on to complete degrees in electrical engineering at Texas A&M University in 1986 and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Dallas in 1990. He became a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and was employed as a contractor for Texas Instruments (T.I.) in Sherman and Richardson, TX.

Bill and Pati met at T.I. in Sherman and lived in Howe, TX before building their dream home in Van Alstyne. They worked on their home for five years before it was completed. They took pride in everything they did and loved being at home and working together on another project. Bill was dependable, intelligent, respected, a very hard-worker, meticulous (some would affectionately call him a perfectionist), and always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed listening to classic rock, fitness, playing golf, and watching his beloved Aggies. He was an amazing stepfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend who was loved by many.

Bill is survived by stepdaughter-Krystal Wilkirson, father-Dan Moody Gaddis, sisters-Barbara (Collin) Fowler and Danna (David) Moore of Amarillo, TX, brother-in-law, Randy (Teresa) Tucker of Floresville, TX, nieces-Leslie (Joey) Gunn of Anna, TX and Kaysha (Kyle) Ireland of Amarillo, TX, and nephews-Preston Fowler of Amarillo, TX, Jamason Fowler of Denton, TX, Jonathan (Kyleigh) Moore of Arvada, CO, Steve (Courtney) Tucker of Adkins, TX, and Scott (Rachel) Tucker of Waco, TX. He is also survived by mother-in-law, Inge Taylor, sister-in-law-Karen (Randy) Taylor, brother-in-laws-Bobby (Rhonda) Taylor and Jeff (Renea) Taylor, of Denison, TX, and nephews-Ryan (Paula) Taylor of Corsicana, TX, Jordan (Meghan) Taylor of Spring, TX and Chance Taylor of Columbus, SC. He was preceded in death by mother, Dorothy Gaddis, sister, Teresa Tucker, and father-in-law, Bob Taylor.

A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Victory Life Church-4100 N. Travis St., Sherman, TX with Pastor Stan Roberts officiating. Lunch will be provided afterward. Bill, Pati, and LouLou will be laid to rest at Cedarlawn Memorial Park on a later date.
