William Ulrich Obituary

William Charles (Bill) Ulrich passed away peacefully Monday morning, November 11, 2024. He was 94 years old. Born in Sharon, PA on July 5, 1930, he was married to Betty Godwin for over 61 years before her passing in 2020. Bill was an avid golfer since teenage, eventually scoring four holes-in-one during his amateur career. He went to college on the GI Bill and graduated from University of Louisville with a Masters of Chemical Engineering. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, overseas in the north Pacific. He subsequently obtained a second Masters of Nuclear Engineering from University of Tennessee, and worked his entire career at Oak Ridge National Labs, before retiring to Florida. Bill is survived by daughter Julianna Joyner (husband Jim), son William C. Ulrich Jr (wife Gay), grandchildren Dayton Ulrich, Brian Hearn (wife Braydyn), Emma Ulrich, and Nicolas Ulrich (wife Emma), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
