Teresa Benke Obituary

Teresa M. Benke (nee Szmurlo) age 73, of Hartford, Wisconsin, went home to the Lord on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Teresa was born on October 17, 1952, in Milwaukee to Marjorie (nee Schuh) and Frank Gargulac.
She was united in marriage to Dennis Benke on November 7, 1970
Teresa loved yoga, camping, spending time with family, horses and reading.
Teresa is survived by her beloved husband Dennis, of 55 years, her loving children Jeffery Benke, Brian (Jennifer) Benke and Nicole Benke; grandchildren Kevin Lombard, Tara Benke, Amber Benke, Jeffery Benke, Zachary (Felicia) Benke, Brandon (Rose) Benke, Mason Benke, Katielynn Vana, Samatha Gumtow, Jacob Benke, Tyler Benke, and Daniel Schwindt Siblings Robert (Paulette) Szmurlo; great-grandchildren Savannah, Carlos Jr., Ava, Weston, Dominic, Landon, Elizabeth, Xavior, and Lilith. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Frank and Marjorie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 W State St., Hartford, WI 53027). Family will greet relatives and friends at church from 11:00am until the start of Mass. Interment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford.
