Michael Musselman Obituary

Michael Dean Musselman, 81, of Ocala, FL, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. Born on March 8, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, Michael Musselman was the second son of Merle and Juanita Musselman. At 19, Michael joined the Navy, serving on the USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31) for three and a half years, during which time he completed three tours in Vietnam. He finished the last six months of his service as a Second-Class Petty Officer on the USS Independence (CVA-62). After serving in the Navy, Michael joined the Norfolk Police Department as a Patrol Officer for thirty years. He became a founding member of the Crime Analysis Department, was the head of the Loss and Stolen section, and was involved with the 911 Dispatch Center. He earned an Associate's Degree in Police Science. Later, he retired to Ocala, Florida. He became a State Correctional Officer at the Marion Women's Correctional Facility, where he retired again after serving eleven years. Michael was preceded in death by his parents of Saint Petersburg, FL, his previous wife, Delois "Deloris" Musselman of Chesapeake, VA, and his brother, Ronald Musselman of Pinellas Park, FL. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Ann Musselman of Ocala, FL; his son and wife, Michael Jr. and Joan Musselman of Fairfield, PA, Melissa Damsey and her husband Lloyd Damsey of Chesapeake VA, Melinda Tejero and her husband Alex Tejero of Hampstead, NC; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Abbi, Jillian, Jordan, Autumn, and Gabriella; his great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Brantley, and Brooks; and his nieces, Dawn and Danielle.
