Alfred King Obituary

Alfred Neal King, Jr., 80, passed away on October 17, 2024, in Marysville, CA. Born on August 8, 1944, Alfred led a life marked by devotion to his family, country, and community.

Alfred's career began in the United States Air Force in 1965, where he served with distinction until his retirement as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1990.

Following his military service, he pursued and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Chico State. He then worked for Naumes and Opud until his final retirement in 2014.

He was a long-time parishioner of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Yuba City, CA. Alfred's hobbies included playing golf, dancing, and teaching line dancing, which he did for many years.

His love for travel was evident as he explored the country for 12 years in an RV with his wife, Paulette, and enjoyed numerous cruises.

Alfred is survived by his beloved wife, of 57 years, Paulette King; daughter, Veronica Ludwig; son, Michael King; daughter-in-law, Marjorie King; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Putnam and Marcia Hughes; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandy and Ray Hoyt; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Sarah King; in-laws, Eldon and Betty Tennis; and brother-in-law, Ray Putnam.

A Rosary and Viewing will be held on November 4, 2024, from 6-9 PM at Ullrey's Memorial Chapel.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for November 5, 2024, at 11 AM at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Yuba City, CA, with a reception to follow at Ettle Hall, 1333 Butte House Road.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place at Dixon Military Cemetery on November 6, 2024, at 10:30 AM.

Alfred's memory and legacy will be cherished by all who knew him, as a loving, strong individual who dedicated his life to service, both in uniform and in his community.

I only knew Fred for a short while as his caregiver but the days I got to spend with him I cherish. It never felt like I was at a job while taking care of him. He was the sweetest man with the most kind soul and contagious smile that ill miss.

I only knew Fred for a short time as his caregiver but in that short period of time it was my privilege and honor to take care of him and always looked forward to my shifts with him. What a great man he was with his positive attitude and sense of humor, I will miss him deeply.
