Florence “Marcia” Manz, 88, of Lynn, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Born on January 22, 1937, in Lynn, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Florence (Lampert) Ryback. Marcia was raised and educated in Lynn, where she graduated from Lynn English High School.
She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at W.A. Tompkins in Danvers, Massachusetts, before retiring and moving to Florida with her beloved husband, Clifford Manz. Together, they enjoyed many happy years of retirement — especially at Wickham Park Senior Center, where Marcia served as chairman and loved running the bingo games.
Following Clifford’s passing, Marcia returned to Massachusetts to be closer to her family and friends.
Marcia was the loving mother of Tyra (Dan) Minniear and Bruce Bettis, Jr., both of Lynn, Massachusetts; and the devoted stepmother of Denise (Chris) Giarla, Christina “Kissy” Iacone, Rose Bayani, Kim (Denis) Boisvert, Ben (Marge) Bayani, Jr., Paul Dias, the late Michael (Liz) O’Connor, and Frances Grella. She was also a cherished “Grammie” and “Nana” to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marcia enjoyed playing bingo at local senior centers and at the Peabody Knights of Columbus. She loved visiting casinos to play the slot machines and never passed up the chance for a classic New England lobster roll. She was someone who always listened with kindness and compassion — and when asked how things were, she would simply smile and say, “Everything is wonderful.” She also gave the very best hugs.
Marcia touched the hearts of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she brightened.
“A smile so bright, it would light up a room. Now she is a star that lights up the sky.”
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Marcia’s memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
