ROBERTS (Reeves), Julie Louise

Julie Louise Reeves Roberts, born August 19, 1925, at Walter Reed Hospital, in Washington, DC, died peacefully on November 7, 2025, in Decatur, GA, at the age of one hundred years.

A self-described "army brat," she was the daughter of Brigadier General James Haynes Reeves and Katharine Richardson Reeves, traversing the nation in her youth from Nevada, to Texas, to California, to Hawaii, and the Pacific Northwest, finally settling in the East Lake neighborhood of Atlanta, GA.

She graduated from the Washington Seminary School in 1943, and then the National Cathedral School for Girls in 1944.

In 1946, she married James Keith Roberts, a friend since the fifth grade. They had three children, Jim, Haynes and Frances.

A devout Episcopalian, Julie was an active member in many parishes, serving on the altar and flower guild, developing women's programming and encouraging others to do the same, exemplifying a spirit of humility and service.

But perhaps the grandest legacy Julie, or "Miffy" as her grandchildren affectionately called her, left was the profound, enduring dedication she had to her family - her house, a respite every Saturday night for home cooking for anyone available; Christmas Eves spent with her entire brood under one roof, up to twenty at a time; annual summer trips to Jekyll Island for beach walks, shell seeking, boiled shrimp and bridge games. Her devotion to her family was as consistent as the tide charts.

Thankfully, her extended family had the opportunity to celebrate her 100th birthday together just months ago.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Keith Roberts. She is survived by her three children, James Keith Roberts, Jr. (Carol), Haynes Reeves Roberts (Betsy), Frances Boykin Roberts Henry (Donal), nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Decatur Cemetery, 229 Bell St., Decatur, GA 30030.
