Ronald Swatski Obituary

Ronald Joseph Swatski, age 75, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025 with his family by his side. Born in Danville, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Leonard Joseph Swatski, Sr. and Cecilia Rita (Wojcik) Swatski.

Ron grew up in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Bloomsburg State College. After college, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Ron worked as a supervisory chemist for the U.S. Army Public Health Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, retiring as Deputy Chief of the Laboratory Analytical Division after over 35 years of service. One of his proudest work accomplishments was chairing a chapter in the Multi-Agency Radiological Laboratory Analytical Protocols (MARLAP) manual.

Ron enjoyed gardening, model railroading, and woodworking. He also gave back to his community by serving for 10 years on the Harford County Forestry Board. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always willing to help others.

A devoted husband, father, and brother, he is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Kirsch) Swatski; his cherished daughter, Sarah Swatski; his brothers, Leonard Swatski, Jr. and David Swatski and his wife Rebecca; his brother-in-law William Kirsch and his wife Dorothy; his sister-in-law Patricia Kirsch, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 2 – 4 PM & 6 – 8 PM at McComas Family Funeral Homes in Bel Air. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ron's memory to Little Sisters of the Poor St. Martin's Home, 601 Maiden Choice Lane, Baltimore, MD 21228 or the Bloomsburg University Foundation, designated to the Chemistry Fund, 50 East Main Street, 4th Floor, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Ronald, I knew him from coming into Giant shopping with his wife and daughter on Saturday mornings.
Ronald was always so kind and pleasant, he would always make it a point to say good morning when he would see me in front of my meat case. I know he will be missed by many, he was such a very kind soul. Keeping his wife and daughter and Family in my thoughts and prayers.
