He was born October 14, 1946 to the late Carl & Anna Schmitt Metzgar. He was preceded in death by his infant brother Jeffrey and children Hawley and Christian Metzgar. David worked as a mechanic for many years at the Metzgar family Gulf gas station in Natrona Heights. He was the most creative and inventive person you could meet. He loved making ordinary things into a one of a kind. He enjoyed painting and riding around on his tractor. He had good life with his wife Sharon, his best friend for over 59 years. He loved his home in Chicora, Pa where he lived for over 52 years. David was married to his beloved wife Sharon (Hawley) Metzgar for over 58 years. Together they had 12 children. Hawley, Sharon (Scott) Wegener, Shannon Harbinson, Christian Metzgar, Shani (Dave) Lewis, David Metzgar, Sheila (Gary) Rankin, Timothy Metzgar, Sharlett (Mark) Anthony, John Metzgar, Susie (Jeff) Spence, Tara Metzgar. David had 28 grandchildren, Zack, Stefan, Brady, Kelsey, Scarlet, David, Priscilla, Nick, Courtney, Hollie, Austin, Addy, Uriah, Meagan, Christopher, Christian, Bailey, Caleb, Autumn, Levi, Simon, Gage, Braxton, Johnny, Solomon, Steven, Rory, Daniel. And 5 great grandchildren, Asher, Reid, Ryland, Emma, Messiah who all loved him very much. No public calling hours are planned.
