Susanna is survived by husband Will Ryan; stepson Bill Ryan & daughter-in-law Wendy; stepson Michael Ryan; grandson Matt Ryan and wife Cecile; grandson Tyler Ryan; granddaughter Jasmine Ryan; great-granddaughters, Catherine and Morgan Ryan; sister-in-law Gail Ryan; niece Tavia Ito and her partner, Sheila Dabney; goddaughter Robin Merrill Shaw and husband Justin; grand-godson Kaydin Shaw.

I had the honor of meeting Susanna a couple of years ago. I was working in patient advocacy and she was so gracious to share her story with me and my colleagues. She was a remarkable woman who left an impression on me I will never forget.

Susanna was a notably brilliant fellow student in Juan Lopez-Morillas' philosophy seminar at Brown University. She presented a brilliant analysis of Thomas Mann's TONIO KROGER. (She was also one of the most beautiful women on the Brown/Pembroke Campus.)
