Suzette Lemieux Obituary

Suzette T. LeMieux, 92, passed away on August 10, 2024, at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox. She was born in New Bedford, MA, on October 25, 1931, to Paul and Bernadette (Delisle) LeMieux and moved to North Adams, MA, with her family shortly thereafter.

Suzette graduated from the former Holy Family Parochial School in North Adams and attended St. Anne's Academy in Marlboro, MA, on full scholarship, graduating in 1949. She began her career at Sprague International in North Adams. During this time, she served as organist at the former Holy Family Church and was an active member of Le Cercle Francais.

In 1962, after touring Europe in her prized Triumph TR3, Suzette moved to New York City for a position at IBM. Her professional poise led to her selection as one of ten official hostesses for IBM executives at the 1964 New York World's Fair. Suzette's career at IBM flourished, culminating in her role as executive secretary to the president of the IBM World Trade Center, a position she held with distinction until her retirement in 1991.

A dedicated lifelong learner, while building her career in New York City, Suzette earned her bachelor's degree from Marymount College and her master's degree from Pace University. Known for her love of the arts and zest for adventure, she was a decades-long subscriber to the Metropolitan Opera and member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She was actively involved in several organizations, including the Knickerbocker Republican Club. Suzette enjoyed travel, golf, playing the piano, reading, and the company of her beloved nieces and nephews. In 2014, she returned to North Adams, bringing back a helf-century of accomplishments and memories from her NYC years.

Suzette was preceded in death by her parents, brother Raynald P. LeMieux of Pinehurst, NC, and sister Fern M. Goodrich of Liverpool, NY. Survivors include one sister, Denise M. LeMieux of North Adams, and one brother, Bertrand J. Lemieux (Lucille, deceased) of Brookings, OR. She leaves two nieces, Céleste LeMieux Shaw (Charles) and Renée Goodrich Schneider (Keith); and six nephews Paul LeMieux, Gregory LeMieux, Michael LeMieux, Marc (Angel) LeMieux, Matthew Goodrich, and André Goodrich, as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews.

To all the family, all my warmest condolences.... Mrs Suzette Lemieux was for sure an enjoyable person, with a rich life. I pay tribute to her souvenir, and would have been happy to know her.
The fact is that I found the obituary yesterday, though I tried since august ´24 to contact, having even written a long letter to Kinball Farms.
I bought here in France, 3 days after she passed away last summer, the TR3 mentioned in the obituary, a car that has been in France since 2018 after 18 years in Norway.
I would really much appreciate like to be in contact with someone in the family about it, about its first owner, Suzette.
Respectfully yours
Dr Francois Henot
