Eleanor Freer Obituary

FREER, Eleanor Jean (nee Rainer)
Jean passed away November 7, 2024. Born in Victoria in 1938, Jean attended Strawberry Vale, S.J. Willis, Mount View and Victoria College Schools.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 67 years Gary; son Dave (Anne Marie), grandsons Shane (Shayna), Blair (Annagh); son Jamie, grandsons Andrew (Jessica), Stevie (Caitlin); and sister Marian.
She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Grace, brothers Jim and Joe and sister Nellie.
Jean loved the outdoors and was happiest when tramping the hills and valleys of the Pacific Northwest, identifying the birds, animals and plants as she walked along. She welcomed everyone at family gatherings (but her culinary skills were often tested when preparing fish and game harvested by her husband and sons.)
Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, Jean will be dearly missed.

No service by request. Many thanks to the staff at Resthaven Lodge for their wonderful care the past two years.

Gary , I´m sorry to hear of your wife´s passing after so many years and memories together. I was glad to have gotten to know her a little bit in the past few years and I´ve enjoyed our garage chats and I will drop by in the new year.
Take care of yourself, my friend

Many condolences to the family. Mrs. Freer was one of the neighbourhood mothers who made growing up in the Glanford area a wonderful, memorable time. Thank you.

Gary, I was sad to see that lovely face in this mornings newspaper. I haven't seen either of you in such a long time but you've been in my thoughts.
Condolences. Cathy Campbell
