RALPH J. BRICKNER Jr. age 89 passed away March 18, 2024. Beloved and devoted husband of the late Patricia (nee Lawler). Dear and devoted father of Frank (Cheryl), Michael (Jennifer) and Daniel (Karen). Loving and devoted grandfather of Jessica, Andrew, Kathryn Rossman (Brent), Allison, Meghan, Kristen and Danielle and great-grandfather of Luke. Preceded in death by parents, Josephine (Riha) Spitke and Ralph Brickner Sr., and sister Jean (Buser). Beloved uncle and great uncle to many.
Ralph was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army before beginning his career as an accountant, working for 25+ years at Dow Chemical. A man of strong faith and a devout Catholic, Ralph volunteered his services as an usher for many years at St. Francis de Sales parish. Ralph and Pat enjoyed 59 wonderful years of marriage and cherished family memories with their sons and grandchildren. They also enjoyed numerous trips in retirement, with Las Vegas a favorite destination. Ralph played hardball as a shortstop for many years on the Cleveland sandlots and was a diehard fan of all Cleveland sports, especially the Indians and Browns and was a passionate fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ralph was also an avid golf fan and golfer, his greatest highlight as a golfer was recording a hole in one in June 1999.

Visitation Friday, March 22, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. at the FORTUNA FUNERAL HOME, 7076 Brecksville Rd., Independence, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 6667 Wallings Rd., North Royalton, Ohio 44133. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration, 4108 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44103.
