Adam McMillian Obituary
Adam Dywane McMillian, 48, of Chantilly, Virginia, answered the call from Heaven on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Adam was born on September 8, 1977, in Hazlehurst, Georgia, to Bridgett Hall and Adam McMillian. Following the untimely passing of his mother, the responsibility of raising Adam was lovingly embraced by his maternal grandparents, Curtis Sr. and Odessie Hall.
Adam graduated from Jeff Davis High School in Hazlehurst, Georgia, in 1996. Soon after, he chose to serve his country by joining the United States Navy in 1997. He completed his naval career in Jacksonville, Florida, aboard the USS Simpson, where he proudly served as an Electronics Technician.
After his military service, Adam was employed by Brink's Home Security before relocating to the DMV area in 2011. He later joined Micron and ultimately found his true professional home with Northrop Grumman, where he contributed to numerous aerospace projects-including helping to launch a rocket in September 2023.
Adam met the love of his life, Chetonna Foster, in 2014. They were united in marriage on May 2, 2020, and together shared their lives with their beloved fur baby, Willie the God.
Adam was an exceptionally intelligent man who thought outside the box, could break any code, and could fix or figure out just about anything related to electronics. His hobbies included 3D printing, building electronic games, mining cryptocurrencies, attending Comic-Con events, and most of all, spending time with his loving family. He was caring, genuine, funny, and above all, loving. Adam was a devoted husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Adam leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Chetonna; three children, Jamarqese Perkins, Adia McMillian, and Amir McMillian; three brothers, Jeffrey Easley, Khari McMillian, and Rashad Troupe; and three sisters, Dr. Lytorri Vidaurri (Michael), Sharde' McIntosh, and Kaia (Alex) Parker. He is also survived by his father, Adam (Tanya) McMillian; his uncle who was raised as a brother, Oren Hall; his aunt, Debra Wilson; and his stepfather, Jeffrey Easley.
He was a proud godfather to Aubrey Brown and Matthew Tart, and will be lovingly remembered by his in-laws: Elnora Bowens (mother-in-law), Temeko Foster (brother-in-law), niece and nephew Sameya and Tristan Foster, and Kim and Duane Shipp, along with their daughters, LaTrese and LaShaun Shipp.
Adam also leaves behind cherished friendships with Donny Love, Antoine Grant, Vanessa Freeman, Lee Tart, and Jennifer McMillian (mother of his children), along with his Simpson Reunion Crew, the Bodega Boys, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, coworkers, and dear friends.
