Marika DeLagrave Obituary

SOUTHINGTON

Marika "Mary" DeLagrave, 77, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Hartford Hospital. Marika was born on April 30, 1947 in Germany to late Walter and Elsa (Gallus) Swist. She moved to the United States at the age of 12. Mary was a graduate of New Britain High School. After high school, Mary worked at the Farm Shop as a waitress where she met the friends that she kept in touch with until her passing. Mary also worked at Stanely Works in New Britain, CT where she eventually retired from. Mary's last job was at Mulberry Gardens. She enjoyed cooking for the residents and staff. She left her position at Mulberry at the age of 72. Mary will be remembered for her no-frills life advice as well as her generosity. She loved children and animals and will be missed by all who she connected with. Mary is survived by her son, Daniel DeLagrave and his fiance, Amy Ciccarillo and her brother-in-law, Hugh DeLagrave. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. DeLagrave and daughter, Christine Delsanto. Funeral services were celebrated privately.
