Robert Camire Obituary

LEESBURG, FL

Robert Camire, 89, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Bristol, beloved husband of Doris Camire, died on Sunday (August 25, 2024) in Tavares, FL. Bob was born on February 23, 1935, in Bristol and was a son of the late Clement and Eva (Servant) Camire. After graduating high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Army serving in the 11th Airborne Division during the Korean War. He continued his interest in parachuting in civilian life and was a member of the Connecticut Parachutist Association, the California Parachute Club, and the Florida Parachute Club. An avid fisherman, he worked as a welder for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 33 years before his retirement in 1992. While living in Bristol, he was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish devoted to St. Ann Church. He and Doris have lived in Leesburg since 2005. In addition to his loving wife of 28 years, Robert is survived by his stepdaughter: Jodie LaForge of Florida; a sister: Beatrice Charest of Jupiter, FL; two grandchildren: Mark and Matthew LaForge; great- granddaughters: Rika and Valka LaForge; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a stepson: Jeffrey Beals, Jr., and siblings: Shirley Andrew and Jim Camire. A Mass of Christian of Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (September 4, 2024) at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 215 West St., Bristol. Burial, with military honors, will be at Peacedale Cemetery, James P. Casey Rd., Bristol. There are no calling hours.
