52, of Niagara Falls, Ontario, formally of Tonawanda, NY, passed away on September 22, 2023. Paul, known affectionately as "Big Pauly," was larger than life in every sense. He wore his heart on his sleeve and never hesitated to shed tears. Paul was a man who loved deeply and was loved by all who knew him. Paul was a pillar of strength and support in the lives of those around him. Through his work as a licensed massage therapist, sports and conditioning trainer, and gym owner, he empowered, encouraged, pushed, and healed others. His presence was immediately felt when he entered a room, commanding attention effortlessly. Paul's impact on others was immeasurable, yet he remained humble and unaware of the profound influence he had on so many lives. He never judged and always spoke the truth, no matter how difficult, while being your biggest fan. In addition to his passion for helping others, Paul had a deep love for 60s and 70s rock, vampire movies, and the film "Almost Famous." During his battle with cancer, he developed a passion for cooking shows and became a master grillsman. Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Alicia Childress (Good), and their children, Lucas and Libby Childress. He also leaves behind parents Linda (DeSio) and John Childress, sister, Michelle Conley (Joe), and sister, Amy Berardinelli (Angelo). Paul will be deeply missed by his in-laws, Maureen and Keith Good, brother-in-law, David Good, and his nieces and nephews: Jesse, Jacob, Riley, Finley, and Rachel. He was also cherished by his Uncle Louie and Aunt Dianne, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim, Aunt Liz and Uncle Peter, Aunt Phyllis and Godfather Eric, as well as many cousins and friends. Paul received his primary education at Mullen Elementary School. At Tonawanda High School, Paul excelled as an athlete in football and baseball. He furthered his studies receiving his undergrad degree at Buffalo State where he played 4 years of college football and received his master's degree from Canisius College. Paul's career was highlighted by remarkable achievements. He was a professional powerlifter, holding world records in the squat and total categories. Paul's extraordinary strength allowed him to squat an incredible 1147.5 lbs, bench press 825 lbs, deadlift 821.2 lbs, and achieve a total of 2700 lbs. These accomplishments earned him a place in the Buff State and Tonawanda High School Sports Hall of Fames, as well as being honored as an All-American Athlete. Paul was also a trainer to multiple professional and Olympian athletes. Per Paul's wishes, a celebration party will be held in his honor, where friends and family can share love and stories.
