I am so sad to hear of his passing. I served with him in 1/7, USMC. He was such a great guy. I was actually thinking of him and trying to find where he was on Facebook. He passed away too young. Semper Fi and rest easy Marine.

In Loving Memory of My Friend, Scott
My good friend of four years, Scott, has passed away. He lived right next door, and over time he became more like family. We watched movies together, played games, went out to eat, and had long talks about life. He often spoke about his daughter - she was his world, even though he didn´t get to see her often.
Scott never judged anyone. He was always upbeat, patient, and willing to help however he could. His home was always neat as a button - just like him, everything in its place. I´ll never forget the time he couldn´t decide between making lasagna or chili, so he made both. Somehow, that funny combination turned out to be delicious - just like his personality, a mix of creativity and humor.
He loved bowling every Wednesday and was proud of his job of over sixteen years. Most of all, he was proud to be a Marine. Scott looked out for everyone in the community. He noticed things - if car lights were left on, he´d let you know. He knew when I came and went, and somehow it was always comforting to know he was there, keeping an eye out.
When you live so close to someone, they become part of your daily life. I always knew when he was outside because I could smell his cigarette. I´d stop my bike to chat with him. The last time I saw him, he was heading out, saying he was just going to get some yogurt. His car was running, and I said, "Ok, Scott, I´ll see ya later."
I guess you never truly realize how much someone means - how much space they hold in your life - until they´re gone.
I´ll miss you forever, Scott.

To the Ryan family,
I´m so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of playing baseball with Scott in East Butler (Big Blue), and I´ll always remember him as a kind and great teammate. My thoughts are with your family during this difficult time.
With deepest sympathy,

I am heartbroken to hear about Scotty. We've known each other since we were kids playing baseball for his dad, and I'll always remember his laugh. One memory that perfectly sums up his spirit was from our football days. The coach wanted to try him out at running back-and the best part? Scotty was so small, fast, and powerful that he was literally invisible with the ball! It was hilarious, and he was unstoppable. He had such a big heart and was always a great friend. My deepest condolences to the Ryan family, who were always so good to me.

I knew him as Pittsburgh Scott because of the team he loved and so I could differentiate him from our original Scott. I'm from Cleveland so we are football enemies. I loved my football Sundays with Scott. There are a bunch of us that are going to miss him.
Rest in Peace my friend.
