Neil Wendt Obituary

Lake Mills, WI - Neil R. Wendt, 89, Lake Mills, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 15, 1934, the son of the late Herbert and Erna (Gomoll) Wendt.

He was a graduate of Lake Mills High School, class of 1953.

On June 25, 1955, he married the former Lillian Mae Hansen and they were happily married for nearly 69 years.

Neil owned and operated Culligan Water Conditioning, serving Jefferson County.

He was a member of the St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Lake Mills and past member of the Lake Ripley Country Club for many years.

Neil was a devoted family man and loving husband. Neil had a passion for Golf; whether he was out playing on the course or had it on TV, he loved every aspect of the game. Neil also loved taking the family out on Rock Lake for frequent pontoon rides. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and love on his way to meet our Lord and Savior.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lillian; their children, Susan Lutz of Sparta, WI, Debra (Terry) Radloff of Deerfield, Richard (Kristi) of Lake Mills; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Melbourne (Betty) Wendt of Golden, CO; other relatives and friends.

Neil was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert (Margaret) Wendt, Jr.; three sisters, Marlene in infancy, Delores Breitkreutz, Lorraine (Norman) Liebe; and his son-in-law, William Lutz.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Lake Mills.

Family and Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the church until the time of services.
