Clara Seager Bartholomee, was born on July 28, 1919, in Baltimore, Maryland, and passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024 in Severna Park, Maryland. Clara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her vibrant spirit and her love of life. In partnership with her husband, Howard, Clara owned and operated a successful hair salon in Arbutus, Maryland, where she made lasting connections with her clients and community. Clara was an avid golfer, a passion that brought her joy and camaraderie. At the age of 94 she was playing golf twice a week. Notably, she achieved the remarkable feat of scoring three holes-in-one, one at 50, one at 60 and one at 70! A milestone that always brought a smile to her face, especially when comparing her achievements with Howard's one hole-in-one. She was a life long member of the Howard Lodge of the Eastern Star in Elkridge, Maryland. She loved to play cards, and shared that love of games with her grandchildren. She never turned down strawberry ice cream or coconut cake. She was consistently pressed and stylishly accessorized, always with her best foot forward. She was masterful at keeping in touch with friends and family and gathering groups together to deepen those connections. She was a world traveler, even into her older years, visiting India at age 88, and Cuba at 92. She was predictably the life of every party, easy for her to start a conversation, and laughter quickly followed. She could talk to anyone, about anything. She had a wonderful sense of humor and would conspire with anyone willing to play a practical joke. She and Howard fancied entertaining at their home on the Magothy River in North Shore. They bought their home in 1949 as a weekend getaway, and moved in full time after retiring in 1972. Clara is survived by her loving sons, Roger and Wayne and their wives Earlyn and Amy. She cherished her grandchildren, Heather, Stacy, Julian, and Philippe, as well as her greatgrandchildren, Reed, Ava, and Xavier. A celebration of Clara's life will be held on October 11, 2024 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, at 4760 Mountain Road in Pasadena. In lieu of flowers, Clara requests that donations be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, honoring her legacy of community spirit. Clara's warmth, laughter, and love for life will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the lives of those who loved her. For online condolences, please visit:
