Connie S. Bruhn, 80, passed away suddenly at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD on June 3, 2024. Connie was born on August 16, 1943 in Chicago, IL to Howard and Verda (Farris) Hause. She graduated from Salem High School in Salem, SD in 1961 and continued her education at SDSU in Brookings, SD. On June 14, 1963 she was united in marriage to Richard Bruhn at Christ Lutheran Church in Salem. Following graduation from SDSU in 1965, she taught Home Economics in Estelline, Scotland and Pierre, SD.
After retiring from teaching, Connie moved to Silver City, SD in 1989 and lived there until her move to Rapid City in 2001. She was a volunteer at Rapid City Regional Hospital for many years.
Survivors include her two siblings, Cheryl (Jim) Wolff of Rochford, SD and Charles Hause of Sioux Falls, SD; nieces, Amy (Landis) Scholes of Castle Rock, CO and Beth (Ben) Nelson of Rapid City, SD; grandnephews, Ryland, Leighton, Braden and grandniece, Bella. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 1988 and her parents.
Per her wishes, no public services will be held. A private family service with inurnment at BH National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD will take place at a later date.
