Genevieve Krieg Obituary

Genevieve Mae (Matthews) Krieg, of Taneytown, MD died on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born December 6, 1930 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of the late Edwin Matthews and Nellie (Foxwell) Matthews. She was the wife of the late Clifton Frank "Cliff" Krieg, to whom she was married for 67 years. Genevieve was a homemaker for almost 36 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Woodstock, MD. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, playing mah jong with friends, and was active in her church. She enjoyed her loving grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Surviving, are daughters, Deborah Lopresti of Timonium and Mary Thomas and husband Joseph of Taneytown; son, Clifton Frank Krieg, Jr. and wife Christina of Warrenton, VA; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Thomas Lopresti, and sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Gayhardt. Funeral Services of a Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A. at 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD with Pastor David Meador as celebrant. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville, MD. The family will receive friends Friday, November 8, 2024 from 1pm to 5pm at the funeral home.
