Anthony P. Bonomo (Schling), 82, of Yatesville, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 29, 2023, at home after years of a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Yatesville, he was the son of the late Frank (Che-Che) Sr. and Eleanor (Borum) Bonomo.
After graduating from Jenkins Twp.-Yatesville Borough Joint High School, he attended Wilkes-Barre Business College.

He served 24½ years of military service in the U.S. Army, Pennsylvania Army National Guard 109th Field Artillery staff sergeant. He also was a member of the Yatesville Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years, attending fire school in 1968, and 14 years as secretary of the fire department.
Anthony drove a truck for Bonomo Trucking & Top Soil, owned by his father, Frank Bonomo Sr. He was last employed by KTL Trucking, owned by Janet & Stanley Kuna in Pittston Twp.
Anthony is a lifelong car enthusiast. Restoring cars was his passion and greatest hobby. He was an active member as well as a charter/founding member of Pocono Mountain Street Rod car club, a charter member of the National DeSoto car club, and the Edsel International car club.

Sad to hear that Tony passed away. I am also sad that I am not able to attend the viewing and meet his family as I now reside in Florida. When I was commander of the 109th Field Artillery from 1988 to 1992, Tony was my aid. He was proud to be a soldier, and was certainly a true patriot. He will sorely be missed by all.
