Lillie Lamoreaux Obituary

Lillie M. Lamoreaux, 91, formerly of Lehman Township, passed away Friday afternoon, Aug. 20, 2010, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Morton and Lillie Miller Connelly. She attended Forty Fort schools. Before retiring, she was employed by Natona Mills, Dallas.

Lillie was a member of the Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Meadows Auxilary and the Lady Rebeccas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, in 1977.

Surviving are her daughter, Carol A. Smith and husband, Dr. Gary M., Hunlock Creek; grandchildren, Heather Smith, Scranton; Amy Smith and Patrick Burke, Hunlock Creek; Colbey Smith and Michael Galka, Lehman Township; and Preston Smith, with the U.S. Air Force in Beister, England; great-grandchildren, Emma and Molly Burke, Hunlock Creek.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Beverly Butler officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Center, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I enjoyed visiting with Lillie when she was at Fernwood. Our youth group would visit the residents and she was one of my favorite people to spend time with when we were there. Our prayers go out to you and your whole family.
