Gordon Trace Obituary

Gordon Gary Trace, 80, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 11, 2024.
Gary was born September 20, 1944, in Washington, D.C., to the late John and Martha Trace.
He spent the majority of his younger years in Guam, where he attended school and was a graduate of Tumon High School's class of '63. Gary also attended college in Guam before enlisting into the United States Navy, where he served four years on the USS Horne. He was stationed in San Diego, California.
Gary met his wife, Diane, of 52 years and 8 months while in California. They had a short courtship and then decided that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. They were married January 22, 1972, and have been on their honeymoon ever since.
Gary enjoyed watching old war shows and westerns. He also liked to go bowling and swimming.
Gary retired from PTC Alliance after 30 years of working for the company.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother, John Randolph "Randy" Trace, who passed away at the young age of 17.
Gary was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
Gary is survived by his wife, Diane J. Trace of Hinesville, Georgia; three children, Verona Hall (Daniel) of Hinesville, Wallace "Wally" Trace (Tara) of Canton, Ohio; and Amber Sole (John) of Hinesville; four grandchildren, Brittany, Jesse, Maravi and Aspen; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Sky and Jase.
Services will be held at a later date.
Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
