Lavonne Barbara Weber, 85, died on October 8, 2024, in Grundy Center, IA. Lavonne was born on April 4, 1939, the daughter of Frank & Elizabeth Schaefer, in Washburn, IA. She married Wayne Weber on April 19, 1958, in Gilbertville, IA. The couple had six children: Ruth Weber Cose (Scott Hansen) of Steamboat Rock, Rhonda (Todd) Glaw of Waterloo, Cindy Diaz of Tampa, FL, Wendy (Colin) McIntosh of Elk Point, SD, Shawn (Andrea) Weber of Grundy Center, Jill Weber of Traer. Lavonne is survived by her children, 2 sisters: Charlene Youngblut & Rosie Youngblut, 14 grandchildren, & 17 great grandchildren.

Lavonne worked at JCPenney but most of her years she spent as owner & operator of Schaefer's Tavern in Washburn, IA, until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, on January 13, 2022, her parents, 3 brothers: Franklin Schaefer, Roger Schaefer, Hank Schaefer, 3 sisters: Donalene Butler, Mildred O'Connor, Janette Schaefer.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception, Gilbertville, IA, on Saturday, October 19th, at 10:30 a.m., followed by Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Raymond, IA. Luncheon following at The Moose Lodge in Washburn, IA.

Lavonne's children would like to thank UnityPoint Hospice and the staff at Creekside in Grundy Center, IA for the care they provided to our mother.
